Jap Jap...

On Sun, I visited Takaya (たかや) Bistro @ Thomson with dearie on recommendation by Natsu, 9's S/O.

The distinctive part about the store is the large signboard, which caught my eye while i was driving and looking out for it.
If there's anything that attracts me at 1st sight, it has to be the price tag. At SGD20 nett for lunch buffet and SGD23 nett for dinner buffet (No ++, drinks not included though but not a problem), it is really affordable given the wide range of food available in the menu.

One will easily be spoilt for choice given such a menu & such an affordable and reasonable pricing.

Not to mention, the nice and friendly staff who served us. (I think the boss & his wife was ard too.)
The boss was so nice to approach us at our table and even recommend orders for our 1st round of food. (We eventually got overwhelmed by the amt of food that came though. haha)

And then comes our 1st few items, inclusive of my all-time favourite, sashimi!!!

I am really impressed by the standard of the sashimi @ Takaya cos in most places i went to such as sakae sushi and kuishinbo, the standard of sashimi isn't exactly that good.
However @ Takaya, not only is the sashimi fresh, you can tell from the texture of the salmon that it is good. (Relatively well-distributed fats)
And the swordfish sashimi is damn nice!! QQ & tender!!

Not to forget, the Agedashi Tofu & the various fried food (karage, is it?) that the boss recommended. [with a sneak preview of the Yakitori]

And oh, it includes soft shell crab too! Anyone who has been to Kuishinbo & tried their (free-flow) fried soft shell crab would know that usually the crab there is overdone (over-fried) most of the time. But here @ Takaya, the soft shell crab is fried just right and it's very nice! (You can tell by the colour of the fried crab)
And of cos, I had the pan fried beef (Yaki Niku) which was very tender and well-cooked (dearie couldn't take beef) while dearie eats the grilled salmon.
Due to the overwhelming amount of food that we had, I wasn't able to take fotos of them as I had to concentrate on finishing them.
It was a nice and pleasant experience though, and I will definitely go back for more.
